PALLET FIRE SAVINGSPosted: April 6, 2011
There are continuing instances of wood pallet fires overseas, maybe one a week, involving thousands and tens of thousands of pallets. Once started the blaze is quickly propogated by close stacking and flame cavity channels. The costs and health risks to all concerned, the owners, production equipment and buildings, the firefighters and police, the neighbours, and the insurance companies, can be substantial.
This will never happen with a lightweight steel pallet. The indirect and direct savings are quantifiable by those with the interest and motivation to keep such statistics and history and the need to completely avoid or minimise fire risks in future.
